How to join the Indian Army age and education qualification

There are various posts in the army. For that there is different age criteria. Check this criteria from the following table –

Educational Qualification for Joining Indian Army –
For Soldiers GD – The candidates must be 10th pass with 45 percent aggregated marks besides having 33% marks in each subject. If the candidates is 10+2, then no consideration of 10th marks.
Soldier ( Technical ) Qualification – The aspirants must have 10+2 or Intermediate with PCM and English ( 50% aggregated score and 40% marks in each subject ).
Soldier Technical ( Aviation and Ammunition Examiner ) – 10+2 or Intermediate with PCM and English 50% aggregated score and 40% marks in each subject. or Three Year-diploma in Engineering ( Mechanical/ Electrical/ Computer Science / Automobiles/ Electronic and Instrumentation Engineering ) from any of recognized Polytechnic Institutes.
Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical Educational Qualification – 10+2 with any of the streams. 60% aggregated marks should be there with 50% in each subject. Besides in Class 10th or 12th, they must have studied Math/ Account/ Book-keeping with at least 50% Marks.
Soldier Tradesman – The candidates must be 10th pass /ITI.
Syce/ Mess Keeper / House Keeper – 8th pass only
Soldier Nursing Assistant – 12th or Intermediate with PCB and English with 50% aggregated score and 40% in each individual subject. Or B.Sc with Botany/ Zoology/ Bio-science and English. No condition of marks in 12th class in case the candidates have B.Sc.
Educational Qualification for Various Posts in Indian Army
Survey Automated Cartographers ( Engineers) -The aspirants must have BA or B.Sc with Math with 12th NM.
Jr Commissioned Officer Religious Teachers – Graduation in any of the streams along with qualification in his own religious denomination.
Jr Commissioned Officer Catering- 12th or equivalent with One Year Diploma or Certificate Course in Cookery Hotel Management & Catering Technology from any of the recognized institutes.
Havildar Education – There are two groups here – Group X and Group Y. The educational qualification for Group Y candidates – MA/ M.Sc / MCA or BA/ B.Sc/ BCA / B.Sc ( IT) with B.Ed.
Group Y Educational Requirement – B.Sc/ BA/ BCA/ B.Sc ( IT) w/o B.Ed.
Can I further my educational qualification after joining Indian Army ?
Yes. Even the Jawans can continue their studies during their duties. This enhancement of the educational qualification shall help them post-retirement. There is a pact between National Institute of Open Schooling ( NIOS) and Army Education Corps ( AEC). NIOS offers courses and material to the jawans on duty everywhere in the country.
